Moving from friends to lovers is hard. Having insecurities that lead to misunderstanding compounds the issue. I was so mad at Lonnie at first. But I think we are all like her at some point.Definitely a good addition to the Oak Grove series.
Honestly I just couldn't stand Lonnie. You don't get Cade's side as anything from him was told through Lonnie but he came across as completely whipped and Lonnie came across as a totally selfish child. I can't recommend this book at all. There was nothing to redeem it. The ending felt totally rushed, fake and wasn't very good.
This was a good read. I am enjoying this series.
I have read all the books in this series and really love it and highly recommend! All the books can stand alone, but it's also fun to anticipate the story of the other characters! This author is great at creating witty dialogue and developing characters that you actually care about... I also have learned something new in each book, so clearly the author does her research! (She makes it fun, though...I promise!)
I have never read anything by K.E. Stand before, OMG this was fantastic. I didn't realize until I started reading this this was a YA novel. Lonnie is a high school junior and has never had a boyfriend. Cade, Lonnie's best friend forever is also a junior in high school. His favorite past time is video games. Lonnie is thinking her best female friend Tess is turning into Cade's best friend. Is she being misunderstood, can Lonnie and Cade work things out? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters.
