First off, if you haven’t read World Travelers Don’t Date Rising Stars, then I would. It will give you an even bigger enjoyment of this book with familiar faces like Chandra, Sally Garza, & River! I like that book a lot but I really love this one!! Somehow the author manages to perfectly capture the thoughts, feelings, & tone of grief & losing someone. As someone who lost someone very close to me not that long ago, I can say that she nailed it & has truly experienced it for herself to be able to convey it so beautifully. She handles the roller coaster that is life so well in Ari’s story by showing the joy & laughter that she finds with her new cast mates & the pain & sorrow that is always present from her loss. Neither one is too overpowering but you can still feel all of the emotions fully. All of her characters felt like real people to me because they were so well done. I really enjoyed that Ari & Crispin weren’t an instant love & had misunderstandings from the beginning. They really had to get to know each other & pushed each other to grow into better versions of themselves! I enjoyed so many things like Ari’s joy of filming & creating content, her relationship with her “sister” Sally & her makeup artist, Remi, her photo shoot, & her unending support from her best friend, Glory! A great story that shows you how to be strong & not lose your hope even when life is hard! This is hands down my new favorite book by K.E. Strand!
This was a great read! It's funny and sweet. It also has a lot of heart. Despite the main character navigating grief, the book is still upbeat and a joy to have read. Kisses only, no cussing and an HEA. Tropes: he falls first/celebrity/found family
